A Life Rooted in Healing, Music & Presence
Grief has a rhythm. It moves like the ocean - sometimes quiet, sometimes overwhelming, always asking us to listen. My work is to walk beside people as they navigate these tides, offering steadiness, ritual, and a compassionate presence.
I'm Joseph Eppink, founder of Healing Music LLC, grief companion, death doula, educator, musician, and community leader. My path has woven together decades of music ministry, spiritual care, grief education,and end-of-life support. Each thread has shaped the way I hold space: gently, intentionally, and with deep respect for the stories people carry.

Healing is not about fixing. It's about witnessing. It's about creating moments where breath slows, the heart softens, and the body remembers it is not alone.

I honor the emotional, spiritual, and cultural dimensions of grief. I do not diagnose, treat, or provide clinical therapy. Instead, I offer presence, ritual, and grounded support for the human experience of loss.
A HAWAI'I-ROOTED PRACTICE
After years of service communities in New York, I relocated to Hawai'i following a long period of discernment. The ocean here has become a teacher - steady, ancient, and deeply healing. Much of my work now integrates shoreline reflection, ocean ritual, and the gentle wisdom of place.
I serve individuals, families, caregivers, and communities across O'ahu, offering both in-person and virtual support.
MUSIC AS MEDICINE
Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. As an organist, choirmaster, and ritual musician, I've witnessed how sound can open doors that words cannot. In grief work, music becomes a companion - softening edges, honoring memories, and creating sacred space.
Whether through song, silence, or simple tonal grounding, music is woven into the heart of my practice.

My calling is to offer presence - steady, compassionate, and attuned. To help people find meaning, ritual, and breath in the midst of loss. To honor the sacredness of transition. And to remind each person that healing is possible, even when life has changed forever.
