What is Grief?
Grief is about change and our reactions to it. It’s a change from what we once knew to what is no longer there. That phone call singing "Happy Birthday" to you will now not happen. That hug you loved so much is now not possible. You have lost a loved one, and it hurts. It hurts badly.
What we do know about grief is that we can’t pin it down. We can’t make a timeline. It is unpredictable. We never know when it will hit us and the tears will start to flow. It can be maddening. It is during this time that we need to take really good care of ourselves and be at peace with how we are reacting to this change.
There are strategies and tools you can use to cope with this new journey you now walk.
Let us help you take a step towards healing.
What are healing grief sessions like?
Everyone grieves differently, and your time will be customized for you. There are various techniques to help you cope with your loss, and we assist you in developing these methods to help you understand what you are experiencing.
You may find that grief is interfering with your daily routines, bringing depression or guilt, making it difficult to engage with friends and family, and even making it hard to make decisions. While we can’t take away the pain of your loss, we can provide a safe place where you can begin to
take a step toward healing.
Each session begins with touching base on where you’re at and how you are doing. From there, we continue our conversation based on previous sessions. Techniques and approaches may be considered, such as music, poetry, writing, meditation, and much more. We’ll consider your goals and revisit them from time to time. We’ll also explore ways you can continue to take care of yourself
during this time.
